Prevention as a Priority

In times like these, cleanliness and hygiene have never been so important, and we can help with that. Please see below a detailed breakdown, with details from our supplier San Air, about our Mould Control and Lean Green ranges in regards to bacteria, and learning more about cleanliness and prevention of spreading bacteria based viruses. Both lines are only available to Essentially Natural, completely Australian, and can play a critical role in your indoor standards of cleanliness, with anti-bacterial and disinfectants as a focus of both products.

Both the Mould Control and Lean Green ranges can help you add a new and strong natural protection to gain a healthier indoor environment from airborne germs.. There are many types of airborne contaminants. Right now, people need to address airborne contaminants of bacteria and mould. Why?

  • Viruses host in bacteria (this is well known since the early 1900’s (ref 1 & ref2))
  • Bacteria travels on airborne particulate matter
  • Bacteria is also known to piggyback on mould which also travels in air.

With Mould Control, you have the ability to have clean healthy air all the time, and Lean Green allows you to have any surface sanitised. Both sister ranges will do this efficient, cheaply, natural and without any toxic chemicals, with long lasting results (though regular cleaning is still advised).

Mould Control not only targets Mould, it targets the bacteria, from which Mould will grow, which means it can remove bad smells and odours, potential viruses and flus a guest carries in, even helping to slow the ripening of fruit on your bench, and all round make your space more fragrant and fresh.

How do I know which line is for me?

Your air-conditioner or windows will spread the Mould Control throughout your home as the air is circulating. It will reach all those hard to get to places that you find very difficult to clean manually, as well as helping to neutralise bacterias in a level too small to see with the naked eye. It will simply neutralise all mould and bacteria it comes into contact with.

  • To clean away existing Mould or bacteria – use Mould Control: Cleaner, as its important to ensure a clean space before adding a jar to maintain it,
  • Standard room with open air flow – use the Mould Control: Home jar, used for any room or enclosed space to ensure cleanliness.
  • Ducted air-conditioning – use the Mould Control: Extra jar placed in the return air vent, or above or below the unit, or in any hard to reach place, as the jar contains a larger quantity to last that bit longer.
  • Split systems – use the Mould Control: Split Systems pack
  • Covered outdoor areas with Mozzies – use the Mould Control: MozzyNo , to give you assistance with Mould while fighting away pesky mozzies, perfect for enclosed verandahs, rooms without fly screens or garages where it is often damp
  • Lean Green: Cleaner for when you want a general clean, for bench tops, floors, outdoor areas, with a natural fragrance and strong anti-bacterial properties
  • For when you need to wash your hands, use the Lean Green: Hand Wash, our alcohol free and chemical free hand cleaner, for those areas where the you may need to wash regularly, and it doesnt require a sink!
  • If you’re out and about, and need to sanitise items in public like shopping trolleys or gas pumps, take our handy Lean Green: Sani-Pen, a sanitiser in a handy pen spray that allows you to spray, sanitise, and wipe away germs from contact surfaces touched by the general public.

Keeping your house, hands and air sanitised, helps to prevent unwanted bacteria and viruses spreading, and we all need to do our part to stay clean and healthy!

Do alcohol-less products still Sanitise?

The answer is yes! Alcohol based products can be harsh on skin and surfaces. Their impact is in the instant used as the fine film of alcohol evaporates in seconds leaving no going protection. We do and dont include them in certain products. It is not present in the Lean Green: Hand Wash since alcohol prices have soared since lockdown measure were enacted. This enable us to provide a hand wash in bulk, without a soaring price, and without the irritation alcohol can cause to sensitive skin.

– Lean Green is water based, soft on the skin and very safe to inhale when cleaning.

– Mould Control is designed to be airborne, so that it comes into contact with the maximum number of airborne particles giving our customers the maximum ongoing cleaning of the air they breathe. No other natural product can claim the level of impact on air quality nor the level of independent testing.

Our Lean Green: Sani-Pen however, does contain a small amount of alcohol, as we know some customers desire this, and it is still affordable in the small size the pen offers at 10ml, and we will soon provide 100ml refills for these, so you can stay sanitised while out and about.

Some Interesting facts
  1. Bacteria are usually measured in microns (1 micron equals 1 one-millionth of a meter), while viruses are measured in the even more miniscule unit of nanometers (1 nanometer equals 1 one-billionth of a meter, or 1 one-thousandth of a micron). Reference.
  2. Airborne transmission of microorganisms capable of causing disease, Pathogens, can also spread when residue from evaporated droplets or dust particles containing microorganisms are suspended in air for long periods of time. Diseases spread by airborne transmission include measles and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. Reference.
  3. Viruses are simply packets of nucleic acid, either DNA or RNA, surrounded by a protein shell and sometimes fatty materials called lipids. Outside a living cell, a virus is a dormant particle, lacking the raw materials for reproduction. Only when it enters a host cell does it go into action, hijacking the cell’s metabolic machinery to produce copies of itself that may burst out of infected cells or simply bud off a cell membrane. This lack of self-sufficiency means that viruses can be grown only in living cells, fertilized eggs, tissue cultures, or bacteria.
  4. A bacteriophage, also known informally as a phage, is a virus that infects and replicates within bacteria. Bacteriophages are among the most common and diverse entities in the biosphere.[1] Bacteriophages are ubiquitous viruses, found wherever bacteria exist. It is estimated there are more than 1031 bacteriophages on the planet, more than every other organism on Earth, including bacteria, combined. Reference.

There are many types of airborne contaminants and I go into that in some detail on a previous blog. Right now, people need to address airborne contaminants of bacteria and mould. Why?

  • Viruses host in bacteria (this is well known since the early 1900’s – Ref1, Ref 2)
  • Bacteria travels on airborne particulate matter
